I live in Wisconsin with my wife and three children. I have been artistic through out most of my life. In the past, I have done photography, woodcarving, and drawing. In my teens, I did some charcoal drawing and wooden knives. When I was in my early twenties, I designed a couple of lamps and sold one of them. In 2007, I started setting up shop, which has grown quite a bit. I started making household items, like hooks, a coat rack,
a wall hung potholder, and utensil holder (that my wife loves). I then moved on to knifes, sheaths, and started making sculptures. Friends and family started asking for custom items. Others have seen my work, and have commissioned me to make custom items. It is very satisfying for me to make something for someone, and have them truly enjoy the work I have done. I love being creative and spontaneous.
If you would like to contact me, regarding custom artwork, or knives, you can reach me at zechmoore@gmail.com or call me on my cell at 715-252-7422.
Jonathan I am sorry it took so long to get to this. I used an old leaf spring from a 68 Ford Bronco, I think it is 5160 spring steel. The finish on it was just from quenching it in oil during the hardening procces.
the folder is very beutiful, I have wanted to do something like this for a long time
ReplyDeleteYou should. I would love to see it! This one was forged out of a leaf spring off of a truck.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you use for steel on the folder, and how did you finish it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!!!
